  • Condition: Some prints have a small amount of foxing, frames have nicks and very old backing and wires. Glass could use cleaning on inside facing prints. Please review all 12 photos. Photos do have some glass glare. The detached wire in one photo has been hooked back up. Color more accurate on individual pictures.

    Description

    This is a set of 6 Japanese prints, very old from the looks of the framing method if you enlarge the photo showing their backs. The narrow black wood frames do have some nicks and wear, as well as some repairs at the mitered seams. The prints are crisp and have lovely subtle colors, but some do have some minor foxing, and may have yellowed a bit, but look fantastic the color they are.  One has stained backing, but it is not apparent on the print. These are ready to hang as is, but if I were keeping them myself, I would take off the backing, give the glass a good cleaning, and reframe them with archival materials. Three of these are vertical, three horizontal, the larger ones measuring 10 3/4 x 12 3/4, the smaller ones 9 3/4 by 12 3/4. Together they make an impressive wall grouping. These are estate pieces from a gentleman who loved both theater and the Japanese culture, and had an extensive collection. They have been carefully packaged with lots of bubble wrap between each picture. This is a heavy box, 8 lbs. 2 oz. Shipped USPS ground, but will upgrade to Priority with request before payment.
