    Description

    A fine old Dan We Wobe mask of exceptional age and finely carved. Has been in my collection for years and was acquired before 1972. Adorned with 16 antique bells, some of which have had small stones placed inside to replace the metal balls that once created the sound but were worn out over time. 2 small fetish bundles with unknown contents placed on each side of the mask, sloping forehead, the perimeter pierced for attachment, and a single nail at the crest. Fine aged deep brown surface with areas of kaolin around the eyes and mouth. Old cowry shells fine aged and encrusted medium brown patina. Guaranteed old, authentic and tribally used. Stand included with sell.
